Nicolas Lesage, the league's top goalscorer and MVP in 2007, has renewed his contract with the Trois-Rivières Attak and will again be in the heart of the team's attack in 2008.
Lesage is the only player who participated in all 28 games in 2007, scoring 20 times in 20 starts.
"Nicolas is an important member of the Attak and he proved it with his performance last year," said Stéphane Chiarello, GM of the team. "Being from Trois-Rivières, he is a model for the young players in Mauricie. We are therefore very pleased that he is back for the team's second season."
Lesage joins François Boivin, also from Trois-Rivières, and Pierre-Rudolph Mayard, both signed last week.
"I am very happy to be back with the Attak and hopefully I will help the team to perform well again," said the league's best player last year. "Playing in front of my fans, who are always very enthusiastic, is always something special for me. I will thus do my best to fulfill my role with professionalism."
