Among the 54 players who took part in the Trois-Rivières Attak open try-outs, on January 25 and February 1, 2008 at Soccerplexe Catalogna in Lachine, coach Marc Dos Santos selected nine players who will be invited for the team's training camp.
Among the six Quebecers, five comes from the CNHP: Raphaël Bélanger-Vaillancourt (goalkeeper), Cédric Carrié (midfielder), Kevin Courcelle (midfielder), Daniel Kijowski (defender) and Mohamed Sylla (midfielder). The other one, Gonzalo Paredes (midfielder), played for the Quebec select teams.
Two others are from Ontario: Ladislas Bushiri (defender) and Paul Kihava Waiganjo (forward). Both played for the Ottawa Fury in 2007.
Gildas Toufilana, a goalkeeper who played for Congo during the U20 World cup last summer in Canada, completes the list.
"I am very pleased with the number of players who came to the try-outs," said Dos Santos. "I knew some of them, especially the ones from the CNHP, but there were also some surprises. It was very positive. We could easily have a second CSL team in Quebec, there are enough good players."
