2007-09-02
Attak one win from first title
The Attak and ColumbusClan FC (Vancouver) players will not be in holiday on Monday as they will meet in the Open Canada Cup final, a 4pm kick-off time at Cove Road, London.
In the semi-finals played on Saturday, the BC team defeated the Windsor Border Stars 4-3 in OT, whereas the Mauricie team won 2-1 over the Italia Shooters.
"The players were fantastic during the semi-final game and I am convinced that they will have this same warrior attitude in the final," said Marc Dos Santos. "If we play collectively with intensity and passion again, we will win the Cup, which would be a great achievement for our young team."
With a victory, the Attak would become the first Quebec team to win the Open Canada Cup and would win its first title less than four months after its first official game.
