Cédric Joqueviel, named player of the game The Attak dominates, but can't score
The Trois-Rivières Attak drew 0-0 against the Wolves, this afternoon in St. Catharines.
This second tie in two straight games is frustrating for Marc Dos Santos' men because they dominated, and therefore failed to increase their lead at the top of the national division.
Nicolas Lesage got the best chances of the game, but the Attak number 12 must wait before scoring his tenth goal of the season. He almost scored in the first half, but Claudio Perri, the Wolves goalkeeper, was saved by the cross bar.
Vincent Cournoyer recorded his first shut-out after six games between the posts. Beside four easy saves, he was not busy, thanks in part to Cédric Joqueviel, named the Attak player of the game.
"We played against two quality sides, on the road, but we are not satisfied with the results this weekend, especially today," Joqueviel said. "We played well, but coming back with only two points is not enough, it is a deception for us."
Open Canada Cup: first Quebec clash in Montreal
The Attak will play its first game in the Open Canada Cup next Friday, July 27, against Jean-Talon 2007 at 9pm at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.
