Baldeh scored his first goal of the season Another tie with Toronto Croatia
The Trois-Rivières Attak and Toronto Croatia drew 1-1, Friday night, at the Hershey Centre in Toronto.
The two teams tied for the second time of the season, after the 0-0 result on May 13 in Trois-Rivières.
The locals took the lead very early in the game with a goal from Tiahoner Maletic, following a quick counterattack at the 4th minute of play. Ibrahim Baldeh made it 1-1 at 41 minutes, when he headed the ball behind the Croatian goalkeeper on a free kick coming from Olivier Brett.
Both teams had a few chances to score another goal, in vain. Vincent Cournoyer had to get out of his net a few times to pick up free balls in the penalty area. At the other end of the field, Boubacar Coulibaly, Jean-Louis Bessé and Nicolas Lesage went close to give the Attak the lead, but the score remained 1-1 until the last whistle of the game.
"We gave our 100% tonight and we got a positive result away from home against a good team," said Ibrahim Baldeh, who was very happy to score his first goal of the season. "The Croatians played hard, it was difficult, but a 1-1 result here is satisfying. Now, we have to win on Sunday against St. Catharines."
The Trois-Rivières team will effectively travel to St. Catharines to face the Wolves, Sunday, at 4pm at Club Roma.
