Lesage and the Attak frustrated again by the Serbian WE The Serbian WE win again
The Trois-Rivières Attak lost 2-1 against the Serbian White Eagles, Sunday afternoon at UQTR stadium, in front of a crowd who was hoping for a better outcome.
The Attak had again most of the ball possession and controlled the first half, but the opponent was very organized and took an early 1-0 lead when Alex Braletic scored an easy goal on a breakaway at the ten-minute of play. Gerry Argento had no chance.
Marc Dos Santos' men had several scoring opportunities in the first half, but they could not beat Dusan Belic. In particular, Nicolas Lesage had two chances, while Darko Kolic was very unlucky when his perfect lob over Belic hit the crossbar.
After the break, the locals kept on pushing and were finally rewarded at 60 minutes when Kolic made it 1-1 after a successful penalty kick awarded for a foul on Lesage, who was running through the Serbian defence before being stopped by Milan Janosevic within the penalty area.
Less than five minutes from time, Braletic scored his second goal of the game on a controversial play, resulting in a 2-1 victory for the Serbian White Eagles. The Attak players fought back and scored a second goal… but it was disallowed by referee Tiger Liu, which did not please the home crowd.
Dos Santos was very disappointed with the result. "Our team deserved a better outcome. We were again dominant but there is always something happening, which prevents us from winning our games. It was the case today, again. However, I am convinced that we will bounce back, next week against the Canadian Lions."
