Portuguese Supra @ Attak

2007-06-01

The Attak aims for the first win on home soil

The Trois-Rivières Attak (1-2-1) will play host to the Portuguese Supra (1-2-1), this coming Sunday at 4pm at UQTR stadium (CHLN 550AM).

The Attak, which drew and lost in its two games on home soil thus far this season, hopes to get its first win in front of their fans. The Mauricie team drew 0-0 against Toronto Croatia, on May 13, and lost 3-2 against the Serbian White Eagles, last Sunday. The Portuguese Supra lost 2-0 to the Italian Shooters in its only game away from home.

"Although we made too many mistakes, our last game against the Serbian White Eagles (3-2 loss) was close, said the Attak head coach Marc Dos Santos. In order to win games, the players must keep their concentration for 90 minutes."

Team captain back in the line-up

Team Captain Boubacar Coulibaly will return in the Attak line-up after missing the last game due to an injury.

JP Étienne joins the Attak

The Attak signed midfielder Jean-Philippe Étienne, who is currently on loan to Corfinium St-Léonard.

Guy Fotso-Sikali released

Guy Fotso-Sikali has been released from the Attak as he has obtained an employment in Ottawa and he will not be available for the team workouts and games.

Ibrahim Baldeh absent

Ibrahim Baldeh will be absent for the up-coming game this weekend as the league confirmed, last Wednesday, that he needed to purge two matches following the red card he got during the season's first game against the Toronto Croatia.

Attak line-up

Goalkeepers: Vincent Cournoyer and Gerry Argento; Defenders: Olivier Brett, Fabrice Lassonde, Elkana Mayard and Alex Surprenant; Midfielders: Danny Anderson, Guillaume Barrette, Jean-Philippe Étienne, Alpha Bah, Boubacar Coulibaly and Tarek El Haiad; Forwards: Jean-Louis Bessé, Nicolas Lesage and Darko Kolic.
