Attak 2 Serbian White Eagles 3

Danny Anderson Costly mistakes
The Serbian White Eagles have defeated the Attak for the second time this season, 3-2, Sunday afternoon in front of 577 spectators at UQTR stadium.
The game started well for the home team, which took the lead at the 16-minute of play when a penalty kick was whistled against Gabriel Pop. Dusan Belic, the Serbian goalkeeper, first made a dive to his right to stop the shot taken by Darko Kolic, and then Danny Anderson (picture) got the final touch (1-0).
In the first half, the Attak has limited their opponent to take most of their shots from outside the box, only one of which causing a threat to Gerry Argento, who was back in the Attak goal following the team first ever win last Sunday. The shot taken by Sasa Viciknez, who makes a remarkable striking duo with Gabriel Pop, forced him to tip the ball over the net.
Following passes between Fabrice Lassonde and Nicolas Lesage, Kolic found himself alone against Belic, but the Serbian goalkeeper was quick and got first to the ball, preventing any possible shot.
Kolic, again, as well as Massimo Di Ioia went close to score a second Attak goal early after the break. Then, the Attak left too many open spaces to the Serbians... and they paid the price.
Viciknez took another long shot at the 64-minute, beating a diving Argento to level the score at 1-1. Three minutes later, the penalties were also levelled when the referee whistled a hand ball in the box against Olivier Brett. Viciknez had no problem to score his second goal (1-2), his third in two games against Marc Dos Santos' men, who was not happy with his players' concentration.
"For a period of ten minutes, we lost our concentration, there were too many spaces between our lines and against a team like this one, you will surely pay the price. We also made many mistakes, and the team that makes the fewer mistakes generally wins the game. The Attak and the Serbian WE are two of the best teams in the league, and we went close to take a 2-0 lead early in the second half. Our team is young and the players will learn from games like this one."
At the 86-minute, Di Ioia was sent off for verbal comments. Seconds from time, Elkana Mayard went very close to level the game when he headed a free kick just over the cross bar. Then, during the injury time each team scored one more goal: Milos Tanovic (1-3), for the visitors, and Darko Kolic, following a free kick which went through every player on its way into the Serbian net. The local players did try, but the time was against them…
The Attak is now in second place of the National division. The Supra Portuguese, the opponent next Sunday at UQTR, is standing in fourth place of the International division.
