Serbian White Eagles @ Attak

Clash in Trois-Rivières

The Trois-Rivières Attak (1-1-1) will play against the Serbian White Eagles (1-0-0) for the second time this season, Sunday at 4pm at UQTR stadium (CHLN 550AM).

Although they have dominated the first meeting between the two teams, on May 18 in Toronto, the Attak lost 2-1. However, head coach Marc Dos Santos said after the game that the performance of his young team, against the top club in 2006, showed that the Attak will probably be the best team in the league.

Dos Santos is therefore confidant that his team can win on Sunday. "In the first three games, we have played against the three best teams in the league in 2006. Following the first two during which we have dominated our opponent, including a narrow loss to the Serbian WE, we won our third game. We have gained a lot of confidence after this win on the road. I can't wait to play against the White Eagles, because they think that they still have the best team this season. This Sunday, we will let them doubt that…"

Calaitzidis and Argento join the Attak

Forward Ilias Calaitzidis, who took part in the pre-season training camp, signed with the Attak. However, he won't be in the line-up Sunday. In addition, the Mauricie team also signed goalkeeper Gerry Argento, who was in the net when the Attak won its first ever game, last Sunday against the Canadian Lions.

First game for El Haiad

Midfielder Tarek El Haiad, who returns from an injury, will be in the line-up for the first time.

Missing players from the line-up

Andrew Olivieri and Pierre-Rudolph Mayard, injured, Cédric Joqueviel, Alpha Bah and Joe Di Buono, unavailable, Guy Fotso Sikali and François Boivin, on loan to the Sélect de Trois-Rivières, and Ilias Calaitzidis, on loan to Corfinium St-Léonard, won't be in the line-up.

Impact players in the line-up

Hicham Aaboubou (D), Paul Moran (D) and Massimo Di Ioia (F) will play for the Attak on Sunday.
