Jean-Louis Bessé
Historical win for the Attak!

The Trois-Rivières Attak won its first ever game, 1-2 against the Canadian Lions, Sunday afternoon at Birchmount stadium in Toronto.

Goals from Jean-Louis Bessé, at the 29-minute of play, and Nicolas Lesage, at the 49-minute, have permitted the young Trois-Rivières team to register its first CSL win after three games. Following a one-two with Guillaume Barrette, Alex Surprenant passed the ball to Bessé who scored the first goal of the game (0-1). Lesage added another one following passes with Danny Anderson and Bessé (0-2). The reply from the locals came late in the game when Nordo Gooden defeated Gerry Argento two minutes before the end of regulation time (1-2).

Forward Nicolas Lesage, who scored the winning goal, mentioned the team effort in his post-game comments. "Today's success is the result of our great team work. The players put aside the fatigue and have decided to work hard to get this win. I was only one out of 13 players who battled to get the win for the Attak."

The Attak has dominated its opponent in all its games thus far. However, today the team was able to transform it into a victory. Head coach Marc Dos Santos had to wait a week before winning its first game. "I had faith in the players, and today they showed that I was right. I am extremely proud of this positive result. Every player today contributed to this historical moment for our team, and this will last for ever."
