THE ATTAK WILL PLAY AGAINST SÉLECT DE TROIS-RIVIÈRES

The pro club faces the bronze medalists at the last Canadian championship

The Trois-Rivières Attak will play its fourth pre-season game against a well known team in the region: Sélect de Trois-Rivières.  This match will be played at UQTR stadium, Saturday April 28 at 2pm.

"Following this game against le Sélect, we will take some final decisions to complete our roster for the 2007 season.  This game will be interesting for some of our players who played for le Sélect last year, but we have to remain focus on the fact that this is firstly a preparation game for our first match of the season against Toronto Croatia. In this game, the objective is clear: we have to score goals.  We must find a way to finish our offensive actions", said Marc Dos Santos, head coach of the Attak.

Le Sélect is also in preparation for its season, which will begin May 6. Jean-François Riocreux, the manager of the team, said that it is an opportunity for his team to play against the Attak.  "It is always pleasant to play against a professional team, especially in this case against the Attak since many of its members are players and friends from the LSEQ or our team. Our season will begin in a few days, and this friendly game will be good for our preparation.  For some players coming from the AA, this will also be an opportunity to integrate the AAA team."

In its last pre-season game, the Attak lost 2-1 against le Royal de Beauport.  Following this game, the number of players at the training camp was reduced to 20.  Vincent Cournoyer played its first full match and Elkana Mayard scored the only goal for the Attak.

For this game on April 28, Alex Surprenant should be back in the line-up, but Pierre-Rudolph Mayard will not play.  He has a knee injury. Impact players Zé Roberto and Paul Moran will play with the Attak.  Therefore, François Boivin and Guy Fotso will play for le Sélect, following a request from Dos Santos, who wishes to give more playing time to these players.

The admission for this game will be 2$ for adults and at no charge for youths (with ID).
