THE ATTAK ADD FOUR PLAYERS TO ITS ROSTER

Two more local players join the team

The Trois-Rivières Attak announced the signing of François Boivin, Guy Fotso Sikali, Elkana Mayard and Pierre-Rudolph Mayard for the upcoming season.

A native of Trois-Rivières, François Boivin played for another Trois-Rivières team, le Sélect, in 2006. He helped the team to finish third in the last Canadian senior championship. He was invited to play for team Quebec at the U14 level, and has since played in the Mauricie region. The same year, he was honoured with the MVP award.

Guy Fotso Sikali was also a member of the 2006 Sélect de Trois-Rivières team. Fotso, a native of Cameroon, also played for UQTR with which he won the gold medal at the Canadian university indoor championship in 2005.

Elkana Mayard was a member of team Quebec at the U14 and U20 levels. In 2006, he played for Panellinios in the LSEQ. In 2004 and 2005, he was in nomination as best defender while still playing for Panellinios.

Pierre-Rudolph Mayard played for team Quebec from the U15 to the U18 levels. He was also a member of the U17 and U20 Canadian teams. In 2006, he played for Panellinios in the LSEQ. He is a former Quebec MVP player.

Marc Dos Santos was happy with the signing of four young players. "Since the beginning we stated that our mission is to develop young players. With today's announcement we show that we will do so, which is good for soccer in our province. With the latest addition, we have a good mix of experience and young players, which is good for the team. I am confident that these young talents will improve and help the team."

Céline Quesnel joins the Attak

The Attak added Céline Quesnel, a young athletic therapist from Grand-Mère in the Mauricie region, to its technical staff. "Her dynamism is impressive and she has the passion for soccer, which was obvious the moment I met her. In addition, France Denis of UQTR had good words about her. Therefore, I decided to hire her", said Stéphane Chiarello, the general manager of the team.

Two new partners

Radio Énergie and the Attak have signed a one-year deal, resulting in more visibility for the Trois-Rivières new team. Moreover, activities involving the Attak and Radio Énergie in the region will be announced during the season.

The Attak also signed a one-year deal with le Nouvelliste, ensuring the team a good coverage in this important Mauricie daily newspaper. "The involvement of the local media proves that Tony Iannitto and Joey Saputo made a good choice when they chose the Mauricie region for the Impact reserve team. The involvement of the business world in our project is very pleasant and we are convinced that Trois-Rivières is the ideal place for our professional soccer team", added Chiarello.
