Hector Contreras 5 straight win for the Attak
The Trois-Rivières Attak can't seem to be able to lose! For a 5th straight game, Marc Dos Santos' team took care of its opponent, this time beating the North York Astros by a final score of 3-1. Even while conceding its first goal on home turf this season, the Attak managed to beat a team that had yet to be involved in a game solved by a two-goal margin. With these 3 additional points, our local team now has a 5-point lead over its closest rivals
The Attack took an early lead when, at the 13th minute, Jean-Louis Bessé capitalized on a blunder by the North York netminder. By halftime, the Attak still had a 1-0 lead. At the very start of the second half, while some in the 1,100 crowd had yet to regain their seat, Christian Nunez scored a second goal for the home team. Trailing 2-0, the visiting team quickly bounced back with a goal by forward Selvin Lammie. But the Attak would not be outdone. Guillaume Héroux gave the home team some breathing room by capping off a beautiful play with a goal. With a 3-1 lead, the home team never looked back.
With a tough weekend ahead on the road, head coach Dos Santos is very happy from netting all 3 points tonight. He is fully aware that his team is now seen by all others as the one to beat. The next games will oppose the Attak to the FC Portual on Friday July 18th, and to the Brampton Lions on Sunday July 20th. The Attak is then back home on August 9th to host the Toronto Croatia. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 pm.
