Elkana Mayard A solid opposition
The Trois-Rivières Attak played a very good game in a 2-0 win over the Haut-Richelieu Celtix in front of a big crowd Saturday at the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Stadium.
Defender Elkana Mayard scored both goals at the 27 and 62 minutes. He then almost completed a hat trick when his shot hit the post.
The Attak controlled and dominated most of the game, getting several scoring opportunities after the interval, but goaltender Julien Lévesque-Latendresse was solid in the Celtix net, preventing the Attak more goals.
"The team effort has permitted us to shut-out the opposition for a second straight game," said head coach Marc Dos Santos. "This is especially encouraging as the Celtix was solid."
Last year, the Celtix ended the season in second position in the first division of the LSEQ.
The Attak next game will be on home soil at the UQTR stadium on May 10 against the Vermont Voltage. Kick-off time is 4:00pm.
