The ATTAK WILL START ITS SEASON on MAY 13

With a match against the Toronto Croatia

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, April 3, 2007 - The Trois-Rivières ATTAK soccer club will start the 2007 season, the first of its history, against Toronto Croatia on Saturday, May 13th 2007 at 4:00 P.M., at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières stadium.

"With the unveiling of our calendar, I am anxious to begin our season. We will be facing one of the top teams in the CSL and the game promises to be a very exciting one. I am looking forward to present to our public our young and dynamic team ", declared Marc Dos Santos, head-coach of the Attak.

The 2007 calendar of the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) has 22 games, where the Attak faces each team of the league twice, with the exception of the Serbian White Eagles and the Canadian Lions, of which we will play against 4 times.

In addition to the opening game, the match scheduled for June 24th will be an event not to be missed. The team from Trois-Rivières, the only Quebec team in the league, will be defending its honor against the Canadian Lions on the Quebec's National holiday. It is important to point out that the eight top teams in the league with the most points overall will participate in this year's play-offs.

Laurence Labonté joins the Attak

ATTAK de Trois-Rivières is pleased to announce the signing of Laurence Labonté as assistant coach. Mr. Labonté, is a former regional technical director for La Mauricie and Lanaudière associations, and currently technical director of the Club de Soccer Albatros-Intrépides. He also holds a National B Soccer License. He has many years of solid experience in coaching and will play an important role in offering technical advice to the players.

"When I accepted this position, Nick De Santis made it clear that one important objective was to work in the development of the local coaches. Several candidates were proposed to me and Laurence stood out as the person that would best fit this role. It is a pleasure to work with him and we already have the synergy to form an excellent coaching team ", affirmed Dos Santos.

13 Attak games on CHLN

Trois-Rivieres Attak has reached an agreement with CHLN to broadcast 13 regular season games. All 11 home games will be covered by the Corus network as well as 2 road games. The description of the games will be done by Serge Alarie who will be assisted by an analyst which will be named later. Also CHLN will ensure a continuous follow-up of the activities of the team via their sports desk. "This agreement is a giant step for our organization.
